Pre-Kindergarten
Created
for 4-5 year olds, Pre-Kindergarten is a 4-hour program which operates three
days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The curriculum used is A Beka, a Christian based learning system which is accelerated in Language Arts and teaches Reading Readiness through Phonics. Along with a focus on educational skills and the core subjects of Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts, A Beka emphasizes moral development to prepare hearts and minds for the Kindergarten experience.
Children will travel to 4 different classrooms throughout the day which include a Math/Science Room, the Art Room/Computer Lab, the Lesson Room (where Language Arts skills are developed) and the Fun Center (an area devoted to self-exploration of hands-on learning tools, toys, games, and manipulatives). Physical fitness will also be incorporated into their routine with organized large motor activities and fitness. The Pre-Kindergarten program includes short breaks for restroom and a nutritious snack, which is provided by the school.
